Relocating to Australia from the UK – Before You Go
Australia is one of the most popular destinations for Brits looking for a long-term escape from the English weather in favour of sunning it up all year round. With excellent healthcare facilities, quality education and beautiful houses available to purchase at a fraction of the price in the UK, it’s no wonder that many individuals and families are deciding to relocate to Australia.
Here we outline the key things to take into consideration before making the big move.
Can I Still Move to Spain After Brexit?
Spain’s relaxed lifestyle, cheap cost of living, and an average of 300 days of sunshine per year on the Mediterranean coastline make it an appealing destination. It is a top choice for British ex-pats looking to escape the harsh UK weather and relocate to sunnier climes.
However, with Brexit done and dusted, many people are uncertain about moving to Spain after Brexit.
Many customers ask: “Can I Still Move to Spain After Brexit?” Moving to Spain after Brexit in 2022 is still possible, but British ex-pats will need to gain resident status. While there were no significant changes to the legislation during the transition period, which ended on 31 December 2020, British nationals now have to abide by further procedures and standards when it comes to emigrating to Spain after Brexit.
Below, we explain what is required to move to Spain from the UK in 2022 and how British citizens can gain Spanish residency after Brexit.
Proud Sponsorship of the Association of Independent Movers (AIM): Strengthening Our Commitment
Matthew James Global Relocations is delighted to announce our sponsorship of the Association of Independent Movers (AIM), a move that reflects our dedication to elevating industry standards and providing valuable support to our fellow international movers.
Our decision to sponsor AIM is rooted in our belief that the removals industry benefits greatly from an organisation that genuinely adds value to its members. AIM’s approach is truly inclusive, offering varying levels of cover (Bronze, Silver, Gold, and Platinum) tailored to the unique scope of each company, ranging from ‘man and van’ operations to international movers. Recognising that standards and service requirements differ across the spectrum, AIM has wisely adapted its accreditation process accordingly.
While a core set of standards remains consistent across all membership levels, these standards naturally increase in rigor as companies progress through the tiers. This approach ensures that AIM’s members receive accreditation that aligns with their specific capabilities and responsibilities.
Moreover, AIM takes a firm stance against financial instability within its membership. It does not tolerate any member continuing to operate while facing financial difficulties, nor does it allow members to re-enter the association after liquidation under a different entity. This commitment to financial responsibility underscores AIM’s dedication to maintaining the integrity and reputation of the removals industry.
Introducing the UK’s first Scania hybrid removal vehicle into its fleet

A key factor in the company’s decision to purchase the vehicle is our commitment to reducing our impact on the environment. Last year, the company obtained ISO 14001 accreditation, which has helped us focus on making our operation more sustainable. As a hybrid, the truck’s nine-litre internal combustion engine is complemented by an electric machine which delivers 177hp and 1,050Nm of torque.
