EUROPEAN SHARED LOAD
A part/shared load service is a cost effective way to move your goods to and from your destination. The reason this service is so cost effective is that you share the vehicle with other consignments and therefore the vehicle costs are also shared. All consignments are individually prepared, numbered, labelled and inventoried to ensure all items are correctly delivered to you. The main advantage of a part load service is that you will receive the Matthew James service of excellence at the most cost effective price.

Hamburg’s nickname is ‘Hambergmeine Perle’, and it certainly is the pearl of North Germany. Hamburg has the unique quality of feeling like a coastal city when it is actually 62 miles from the sea. Maybe this is because it is also the third largest port in Europe! Fun fact, the acclaimed science fiction novel ‘A Journey to the Centre of the Earth’ by Jules Verne is set in Hamburg. But don’t worry, you won’t find any dinosaurs roaming the streets.

Looking for a job is easy. Both Bundesagentur (the largest non-profit job portal in German) and Make it in Germany (multi-lingual job listings) are great job portals to help you find exactly what you need. The jobs in Hamburg are known to be well paid, as the average salary is around €40,000. Industries like business, banking, and the port are big sectors in the city. If you are artistically inclined, Germany’s media industry employs over 1,000 people both domestically and internationally. And all of this work means that you will have more than enough money to rent a sizeable apartment in the city centre for a very affordable €1,300 (on average).
So once you have found that dream job, now its time to actually find a place to live! As already mentioned, Hamburg is a very affordable place to find accommodation in. The city is separated into 7 large neighbourhoods, all with a distinct attraction. If you are looking for that luxury lifestyle with shops on your doorstep and some of the city’s biggest attractions nearby, then Mitte is the place to go. Wandsbek is the perfect place for families (which is probably why it is the most populous district in the city), it is close to the city centre, and hosts plenty of family friendly recreational activities. Or try St. George which is the most up and coming area in the city!
Commuting is really easy. Like all German cities, Hamburg’s transport system of trains, an underground system, and buses means that the city is accessible, making it a breeze to get around. The overground and underground trains run very regularly, with the first service starting at 04:30 and the last ending at 01:00 during the week. Over the weekend, a restricted service runs 24 hours! So no matter what you have planned for your weekend, you will be able to get home without the stress of having to run for the last train.
Once you have moved and you know how to get around the city, then you will be needing things to do on your time-off. Luckily, Hamburg is packed with things to do. Permitting that the weather is nice (the weather is very similar to Britain) you can spend the day in Schansenpark which is a favourite of the locals, or wonder through the botanical garden. Water sport enthusiasts will want to check out Außenalster Lake. If the weather means outdoor activities are off limits, then the English Theatre of Hamburg can provide fantastic entertainment. There are over 50 museums in the city, each offering a unique opportunity to discover more about the city’s history.
