REMOVALS TO AND FROM DORDOGNE
Matthew James provide a superior Dordogne removals service to or from the Dordogne including Sarlat, Domme and Périgueux.
From dedicated removals to shared-loads or even single items, we offer a weekly service to meet your requirements.

EUROPEAN SHARED LOAD
A part/shared load service is a cost effective way to move your goods to and from your destination. The reason this service is so cost effective is that you share the vehicle with other consignments and therefore the vehicle costs are also shared. All consignments are individually prepared, numbered, labelled and inventoried to ensure all items are correctly delivered to you. The main advantage of a part load service is that you will receive the Matthew James service of excellence at the most cost effective price.

EUROPEAN PREMIUM SERVICE
A direct service combines Matthew James’ service of excellence with the added advantage of a dedicated collection date and express delivery timescale. Handling of your effects is minimised as they remain on the same vehicle throughout. Although your delivery will be carried out in conjunction with other clients’ consignments, this means you will share the cost of the vehicle and your consignment will be prioritised for onward delivery typically within 7-10 days of collection.

EUROPEAN DEDICATED SERVICE
A dedicated service gives you the flexibility to choose your collection and delivery dates. This service means you will have exclusive use of one of our bespoke removal vehicles. This service guarantees the Matthew James service of excellence and peace of mind that your moving dates can be fixed, allowing you the convenience to make travel arrangements and plan your arrival. All delivery dates are subject to EU laws on driving time. We can confirm the timing prior to any booking.

The Dordogne is widely considered one of the most beautiful regions in all of Europe. In fact, it is home to over ten of France’s ‘Plus Beaux Villages’ (or most beautiful villages), these include St-Amand-de-Coly, St-Jean-de-Côle, Castelnaud-la-Chapelle, Belvès, Domme Limeuil, Monpazier, and La Roque-Gageac. These lush lands also produce some of the best food and drink that France has to offer. The area around Bergerac is particularly renowned for its wine, producing superb red, white and rosé wines. The Dordogne is also famous for its world-class fois gras and truffles – black diamond truffles can fetch prices as high as €800 per kilo! – whilst summers in the Dordogne see local markets brimming with asparagus and strawberries.
Covering over 9,000 square kilometres, the undulating landscape of the Dordogne offers expats plenty of space to start a new life. Named after the river that meanders through it, the Dordogne’s beautiful countryside is quintessential France with charming chateaux and hilltop villages surrounded by picturesque meadows and vineyards. Yet even with its rural charm, the Dordogne is still very well connected and is served by two airports at Brive-la-Gaillarde and Bergerac, as well as a close-by international airport in Bordeaux. The area also has great railway links to the rest of France and Europe, and now even has a high-speed train service from Paris to Bordeaux that launched in July 2017.
Expats moving to the Dordogne can expect some of the best value property in France – the average price of a house in this region is under 100,000 Euros. Unsurprisingly, expats can expect to pay a premium in prime “signature” villages such as Sarlat or historical towns like Bergerac but prices still pale in comparison to the UK. Citizens moving to the Dordogne from an EU country will not need a visa to relocate. However, anyone living or travelling in France must be able to prove their identity using a valid passport, photo driving license or other official documentation. More information on moving to the Dordogne can be found on the GOV.uk website.
