EUROPEAN SHARED LOAD
A part/shared load service is a cost effective way to move your goods to and from your destination. The reason this service is so cost effective is that you share the vehicle with other consignments and therefore the vehicle costs are also shared. All consignments are individually prepared, numbered, labelled and inventoried to ensure all items are correctly delivered to you. The main advantage of a part load service is that you will receive the Matthew James service of excellence at the most cost effective price.

What images come to mind when you think of Milan? Maybe beautiful people in stunning clothing surrounded by gorgeous buildings?
Well that is only that start of what the Northern Italian city of Milan has to offer.
Known as Italy’s industrial, cultural, and financial powerhouse, Milan has been virtually untouched by the country’s ongoing recession, meaning jobs are still relatively easy to come by as long as you are skilled enough (and any qualifications can be checked at the CIMEA).
Milan is a fantastic option if you are looking for a shift or to advance their career, especially as it has a reputation for being incredibly work orientated. Finance and fashion are big employers in the city. The Italian stock exchange (Borsa) finds its home in Milan, and Milan Fashion Week is one of the highlight’s of the creative calendar. The city is therefore incredibly eclectic, and just about any job can be found in all different types of industries.

As you would expect from a major European city, Milan’s transport system is heavily integrated into the city. The ticketing system means that they can be used universally on all modes of transport from buses to the metro. Fantastic overground trains can take you to Rome in 3h 30min, and visiting the rest of the stunning Lombardy region is a breeze (Lake Como is only an hour away!). That’s really all there is to know about Milan’s transport system. Its cheap and it’s easy, as all good transport systems should be.
It is good that the transport system is so developed, because commuting into the city is a favourable option for many expats, and the city’s property market is expensive across the board, with apartments generally being rather small (but still being less expensive than you would find in London). If renting is your preferred option, then £680 p/m will get you a one bed flat in the city, and £490 p/m will set you up in a nice place in the suburbs. Nine districts comprise Milan, and each is unique. Families will want to look at Brera as its is quieter than
the rest of the city and is very popular with expats, or Monza is further afield and offers good schools and facilities. Milan is full of private International Schools (two of the best are Sir James Henderson British School and The International School Milan). Or hip and trendy Corso Como is where Milan’s famous ‘aperitivo’ comes alive.
With Brexit looming, visas will soon be required in order to move/work in Italy, and here is where you will be able to find your nearest Italian embassy, that you will need to contact in order to find more information, and if you are staying for longer than three months, here is where you will find all the information you need in term of residency permits (you can also find the application forms themselves). If you are looking to rent long-term or open a bank account, you will need to apply for a tax identification number, or codice fiscale.
