Matthew James Global Relocations never walks away from a challenge, and this is exactly what Raj Khaira, one of our team of Move Managers, faced when he received an enquiry for a move to Venice. The client explained that they had been informed ‘If Matthew James cannot do it, nobody can’.
The move was for a renowned conceptual artist with many beautiful and highly valuable items in their possession. The client’s premises were surveyed twice by our highly experienced surveyor, to ensure there were no surprises on the day of the move.
The logistics of the UK component of the move were already challenging – offices located over a number of floors, with exceptionally poor access for our HGV. This meant that the initial move of 4000 ft³ took two place over two days using smaller vans to ferry the goods, but was completed without issue.
The final leg of the move was even more challenging than the first, due to the distinct absence of our usual method of transport – a road!
Not to be outdone, Raj set about liaising with our Venice partners. The communication was delivered with military precision, as it was essential that the receiving boats arrived to a strict timescale. Such was the precision of the planning, they were primed and ready to go when our road train arrived.
All items were safely delivered, and not a single item sustained any damage. Perhaps the most remarkable aspect of this move was that it was carried out in a week in its entirety.
The client was extremely pleased with the entire process and will be engaging our services for the second part of his relocation. No problem there!
